One of my alltime favourite Artists everyone as their genre and Bowie for me is classic 1970s, even though his creativity spanned every decade just with all great Artists his greatest decade will always remain in the 1970s.

So true...I'm going through some of his songs tonight....what an incredible talent and body of work...and like you said so many of them brings up different personal memories.
I think the ability to create songs that one can attach memories and emotions to - that are still strong decades later - is the sign of true artistry.
