I had the same problem Pat. Leaving the lid off helped; and it slightly lessened the ammonia smell that seemed to plague early batches.ATT SE1 Atlas

Another terrific shave with the SE1, my new brush performed well conjuring up a nice lather from the 1912 .
My firs soap out of the hat for today's shave was the P & B star noir, but it now seems to resemble the putty I have in my garage.

Indeed...an atmospheric reference.P&B Star Noir and Floid are a great combo! Also, it's bizarrely dry down here in Wales! Positively unheard of...
Edit: I assumed you were talking about the weather... if it's you who is wetter than a haddock's codpiece, it might just be TMIT (Too much information Thursday)!
Morning gents,
It's been around a week since my last shave, I was horribly ill for a chunk of last week, one of the worst I've had in my life, so that was fun! Knocked me for 6 and didn't fancy doing anything for a couple of days after as well.
Anyway, (that's) passed now, so it was back to shaving and I was looking forward to chopping all that fuzz off! This was quite a special shave as it was the first time using a scuttle that the Missus bought me as an anniversary present. It's a gorgeous, scuttle. I've included the sellers photo as well because mine doesn't show it properly at all. It's been ages since I last used a bowl or scuttle and my technique was indeed lacking, but it was a pleasure to use it regardless.
It was also my first use of the 1912 Le Bleu shaving soap. No-one has mentioned it on the Wickhams thread that I can tell, but I really like the little touches to the labels that are different to the normal 1912s, the blue beard and blue writing, a nice touch I thought. A lovely soap as well, great fragrance and the usual superb 1912 performance. Well done @Fox and @Mr Bigmem on a great group buy. Even the Simpsons Duke 3 in Best brush that still hasn't given me its best yet is starting to yield and perform better than it has done so far.
King Cobra came out again, I love this razor, Kai Pro Touch MG blade on its 4th outing and an effortless two pass shave ensued. Spot on, I'm happy!
Enjoy your Thursdays chaps!
