My point was, the 1912 remains a standard bearer for Gem bladed razors after all these years.
And the short comings of the ATT and Rocnel show how difficult it is to get it right. I'm sure if both companies continue to make this style of razor they will get it right.
I didn't mention the Blackland Sabre because, from what I gather they've made a good fist of it.
I'll hopefully be finding this out for myself in the near future.
I agree that the 1912 has set the vey high benchmark for a long, long time. I'm sorry that I did not pick up on your point, I hope you did not find my post as critical or argumentative.
I am surprised that the ATT GEM, thus far, has appeared to bomb.
Interesting to see that Blackland are about to launch an updated head for the Sabre, which is more efficient/aggressive - always room for improvement. I wonder if we will ever see a perfect razor, in terms of materials, function, design and looks?
