La Toja Sensitive Cream
Gem Junior 1912
Gem S/S [ 4 ] , with/without 1/2 Spine shim
Alum Rub/Rinse Off
Floid Vigoroso

A shave of Two Halves.
Used razor with shim on RHS face/ neck , the shave being quite smooth and reasonably close. On the LHS,without the shim the razor seemed more aggressive, and the shave was close but the skin felt a little sore.I think in future will use this razor with a shimmed blade.

I've been eating too much junk, drinking too much wine, and avoiding exercise recently. This should explain my lethargy this morning and the few spots that have crept up. Now to do something about it...

After the usual 1-2 minute hot towel prep:

BSB 400 homage in HMW
Schick M type adjustable injector/Schick twinjector (NOS 1973)
The Soap Opera Himalaya SS
Barbershop Bay Rum AS and more splashed on like cologne

Wanted to try this blade (thanks Carl) because of all the positive reviews so I dialed in to the #4 setting and went to shaving using a favorite soap. Jeeez, this brush goes nuts when lathering the stuff.....like spontaneous generation almost.

From the first WTG stroke I liked the 40+ year old blade a good bit and will maybe go into detail after a few more shaves. Left my face a little smoother than usual.

Crap, I am almost out of Steve's concoction. Been rationing it out but nearing the dregs. Be nice to see that become non extinct someday.

BBS results,

Martin

Pretty much BBS all over, but paid for it with a good few weepers. BBS simply isn't worth it...
I'll settle for DFS from now ;)
Great combo this though!

Fabulous evening shave. I haven't used the 'goose in a while and it felt good having it in my hand again. Not sure about the soap, fantastic performance but the scent is very strong pine & cedar.

Shower, Joseph Elliot Silver Steel (one of my favorite wedges) razor, Martin de Cadre soap (placed in Scottish Fine soaps bowl), Edwin Jagger Georgian brush handle with synthetic Muhle loft, Penhaligon's balm
