Mastro Livi CarboInox Snake, 8/8 Full Hollow, Snake Point

It is always such an immense pleasure traveling with a Mastro Livi razor, something you can always trust in order to have an impeccable shave. This time it is even better because I brought with me my latest Mastro Livi razor, this incredibly beautiful CarboInox Snake Razor. I am enjoying it more and more at each shave, a wonderful masterpiece to see, yet another impeccable proof of Mastro Livi talent and craftsmanship. I also finally managed to get a small bottle of N°4711 Original Eau De Cologne After Shave and I thought there would have not been a better occasion than this one to use it. I have always loved Eau De Cologne fragrance and in particular N°4711, in my opinion the finest of them all.

Prep - Shower / Pre-lather / 3 min steam towel
Razor - Gillette Rocket HD
Blade - Gillette 7 O'Clock Super Stainless Green (#2)
Brush - Omega 20106
Soap - Arko
After - Frozen towel / Alum & WH mix
Result - BBS

Really surprised by the green 7 O'Clock blade tonight, after having used the black before it. In comfort and forgiveness, I'd rate it beside an Astra SP but we'll have to see what longevity is like.
The Rocket is my favourite DE but it's been known to bite, so I was slightly cautious but the second shave with it was nearly as comfortable as a 1912 with a GEM blade on its second shave. I realise I'm lucky to be getting BBS every shave but since I'm still working through my original trial blades again, it's not something I was expecting. I'm looking forward to shave number three with the green.

MONDAY EVENING

Razor: George Wostenholm Pipe razor
Strop: Waterhouse linen & leather
Brush: Muhle V2 synthetic
Soap: Mike's lemon and eucalyptus
AS: Turkish lemon cologne
Balm: GFT sandalwood skin food

Mart (dodgy) sent me this many moons ago and I decided to only hone it when I had a bit more experience.

Honed it today (my arms and hands have a lot of bald patches on them now!) and after a bit of faffing got it popping hairs all the way along apart from at the tip, though I found the tip was still catching hair.

Thought 'sod it' and gave it a run out tonight and it gave me a very smooth shave which is a pleasant surprise. Finished the ATG pass on the chin and moustache was a DE to ensure a BBS finish all over.

Nice way to complete a shave after two and a bit days growth.

Monday

Evening, all.

Prep: Claus Porto's Lime-oil face soap
Razor: EJDE89
Blade: Tesco own brand (3)
Brush: Kabuki Bamboo
Shave soap: Shea butter soap from E-bay
Aftershave: Ice Dive
Cologne: Czech & Speake Citrus Paradisi

Prep: Hot shower/towel
Pre: Proraso pre-shave - sensitive
Soap: La Toja Stick, Trumpers Coconut cream, Ach Brito Lavanda, TOBS Sandalwood cream
Bowl: Silicone Collapsible Dog Bowl
Brush: Muhle HJM Synthetic
Razor: Merkur Progress, Merkur Slant 37c
Blade: Rapira SS, Sputnik, Rapira Swedish SS, Astra SP
After: Floid black AS, Benjamin's Bay Rum AS, Coral Skin food, Nivea ASB
EdT: Various sample vials

This is a consolidation of 3 weeks of holiday. Enough variation to not let me get bored with the choice. Even though I only had one brush it performed more than adequately. A feather blade plastic packet held all the blades and stored the used ones too. It's a great design where the inner plastic draw can easily be pushed out to empty the old blades once home and used again.
All together quite a small bundle for a long holiday and I never actually ran out of anything.

Enjoy the rest of the Star Wars Bank Holiday.
