The usual prep process (face wash, hot flannels etc) followed by a lovely shave with the set up below...
SOAP: Nanny's Olive Oil & Sandalwood - new to me but which I like very much so far! Leaves the face feeling very smooth)
RAZOR: 6/8" Bengall
BOWL: Korium Shave Scuttle

Prep: Hot shower
Pre: Proraso pre-shave - sensitive
Soap: Grandstaff Illipe / Cocoa butter
Bowl: Woodhead Pedestal
Brush: Omega boar 10005
Razor: Gem Junior SE
Blade: Gem SE (1)
After: Speick Active AS, C&E Sandalwood ASB

...First time using a SE razor. I thought it would be tricky but in fact it was a piece of cake. Very easy to find the angle and it gave a comfortable very close shave; I'm really impressed. Now I understand why people rave about SEs. Used Alum to check if I'd gone too close but no stinging at all...

If that is your first SE fancontroller stop there. The Gem Junior Bar is the king of SE's IMHO and I've pretty much every SE there is..

Really Ron, yes it is my first SE razor. I thought the 1912s were top dog, or even the Lather Catchers. I've not seen an SE like mine so thought it was an oddity. Cracking little piece of kit though.

Yes I've have 2 I enjoy them so much, they are great shavers, although as you say the lack of weight can be an issue.
The only other razor I would say to look out for is the Gem Damaskeene which is the original 1912 razor.

My weekend shaves! Smooth and very clean!

Worth to mention Filomatic products (most famous old Spanish brands), the excellent Weber and not less excellent Jabonman soap.

Cheers!
