Prep: Hot wash with Dove soap
Brush: Vie-Long Horse LEA edition.
Soap: Boots for men.
Razor: Revisor Full Hollow 5/8 carbon steel.
Post: Cien AS balm.

Nice 3 pass shave today for some reason I can get full multiple pass shaves with this razor whilst it takes more effort with the vintage razors. Probably user error though. The boots soap always impresses as to ease of lathering and performance, still not sure on the scent yet though but as you all know it gets washed away. Finally the Cien is always a good balm to use.

Have a great weekend folks.

Jim

Prep: Hot shower
Pre: Noxzema Cleansing cream
Soap: Stirling - Sharp Dressed Man (sample)
Bowl: Woodhead Pedestal
Brush: Mervyn 24mm silvertip
Razor: Gillette Slim Adjustable @7
Blade: Rapira Swedish SS (2)
After: Brut AS, Body Shop Arber ASB

I don't get how the Sharp Dressed Man scent gets such good reviews - maybe my sample's scent has faded but all I get is a faint smell of lard. Having said that though its performance, like all Stirling's I've tried, is top notch.

Have a great Easter weekend, folks.

Mastro Livi Grifetto, 6/8 Full Hollow, Round Point

Ladies and gentlemen, Mastro Livi Grifetto! The stainless steel used for making this lovely Grifetto is just amazing! Smooth and velvety, with the right amount of aggressiveness, it is a superb shaver. Not to mention the touch of olive wood scales, a typical Italian wood - as well as Umbrian, of course - a magnificent tree not only providing the very best oil, but also a beautiful wood. This shave was also the occasion to test the Denim White Aftershave I bought yesterday, not the very best around, however worth the price I paid for it, and the smell is pleasing and fresh.

  • Pre-Shave: Roberts Distilled Rose Water

  • Strop: Mastro Livi Loom Strop and Hand Palm

First use of this soap, BST for this one I think. Plenty of slickness but lather and cushioning non existent for me, switched to D R Harris Windsor for the third pass. Guess someone likes it though.

1964 rebranded Macys large silvertip flopmeister
'Webly'/Schick Plus Platinum (NOS 1969)
DR Harris Marlborough SC
Neutrogena oil free moisture sensitive skin
Caron 'Yatagan' EdT (current juice)

Last 4-5 days it's been a shave with the same razor and blade. It's about the perfect set up for me and I get inna groove sometimes.

Used different soaps/creams like Safari, Coates, and Harris. The old Coates is surprisingly good for that low price and I like both the lime and rose versions.

All shaves ended with BBS results,

Martin
