Well like most of us here I use smilies rather a lot. Thought I'd try to manage without them in August just to see what happens. If all goes well I'll reverse the situation in September, using nothing but smilies to communicate my thoughts. Wish me luck!

OK last day. I must say it's been a bit boring without smileys. Looking forward to using them again as of tomorrow. I managed to communicate adequately (I think so anyway - no comments please!) but a smile or a wink goes a long way in internet land.
