So, what's your first thought on using that injector?
I struggled a bit to be honest.
Thanks for asking, L. Martino!
Reason I asked is because I have a feeling that type of injector may not be the best one for you. From what I remember, you don't care for a razor with lots of bite, and that thing has some. Coupled with the fact of it weighing about nothing means you have the pressure thingy to deal with as well as the vampire like nature of the razor.
Now I may well be wrong and maybe after using the G type for a while things will all become wonderful. Crazier things have happened, Give it 4-5 shaves and see how things are turning out. If it's still not what you want, then maybe another injector is the answer. Personally, I could use your razor forever, and still never get an enjoyable shave.
The injectors are worth figuring out,
Martin
Greetings
Martin I don't wish to challenge you and your huge experience but are you perhaps confusing G model Schicks with E models? The earlier E models are really quite aggressive little buggers and can 'bite', the later G Models are much more docile like the I and J models.
Graeme has the G8 Model, I have one of these and it is a dream to shave with and very easy. On the E model the blade gap is both bigger and set closer towards the guard bar making it fiercer.
What I would say to Graeme is that I shave with SE's virtually every day so I'm tuned in to them, for want of a better explanation; they just need a little getting used to.
I have found that it is fairly important to keep the handle up so the blade cuts at a low angle, quite often you see old Schicks of that model with the head bent, this has often been done deliberately so you don't need to keep the handle so high. I'm not keen on the practice but they will bend very easily.
Regards Dick.
