Dovo Shavette with 1970s Gillette Super Silver (3)
Vulfix 404
Sir Irisch Moos shaving stick, grated into a tub
Myrsol Antesol a/s

Not the closest shave but first quick shavette shave with no nicks and minimal irritation.
Blade could probably have done with replacing so may try this tomorrow with an injector

Prep - Shower / Pre-lather / 3 min steam towel
Razor - Gillette Slim Adjustable
Blade - Gillette 7 O'Clock Super Platinum Black (#3)
Brush - Omega 20106
Soap - Arko
After - Frozen towel / Alum & WH mix
Result - BBS

Well I tried a more aggressive setting with the 7 O'clock black and although in its third shave, it certainly suited number nine on the Slim. Had been taking it easy as its a new blade to me but I still ended up as smooth as ever.
I will however not be venturing into the black again. On the first pass WTG, I'm not getting as satisfactory results as I've gotten from nearly every other blade I've tried. I'm having to touch up too much XTG and ATG, and feel around my face for stray hairs. Even in the Techs, I've still been left with slightly irritated skin afterwards. When other blades like Perma-Sharps and GSB's deliver the results that they do, especially in the comfort score, this one just doesn't rate highly enough to bother with again. Definitely good to get trying them finally though.

Alum Rub/Rinse off
Nivea A/S Balm

Marathon Day=Marathon Shave
Second go with a Treet. Extremely harsh and unforgiving shave. Despite taking longer than normal, the resultant shave was not all close, with areas feeling very stubbly. Wonder,is this a duff blade.

Mastro Livi CarboInox Snake, 8/8 Full Hollow, Snake Point

Just beautiful! This Snake Razor - of which I just published a video about its making - is simply amazing. Impeccably honed by Mastro Livi, it delivers the best shave. Not just an incredible joy to see and to hold in your hands, but also an excellent performer in shaving. For the occasion, I wanted to use my beloved Floïd Blue aftershave, now unfortunately discontinued and this is not a good news.

  • Pre-Shave: Roberts Rose Distilled Water
  • Soap: Tabac
  • Brush: Omega Bristle 49 Red
  • Bowl: Gerby Bowl
  • Strop: Mastro Livi Loom Strop and Hand Palm
  • Razor: Mastro Livi CarboInox Snake, 8/8 Full Hollow, Snake Point
  • Post-Shave: Umbrian Extra Virgin Olive Oil
  • After Shave: Floïd Blue
