Blade = Voskhod ( 3 )
Brush = Bobby Moffat 26mm High Mountain Badger
Soap = Signature Hibernia
with matching splash
Balm = ES Fragrance Free
Another shave from last night,
as i had to work l
yesterday and a weird shave it was.
Third use of the Voskhod and something wasn’t right
i didn’t seem to be getting anywhere fast.
i thought i had the baseplate on 1 but after inspection it was fine,
Blade alignment was fine so couldn’t understand it.
i decided to whip it out
the blade i mean and replaced it with a Brazilian wilko and instantly what a difference.
What was starting of as a nightmare turned in to a top drawer shave.
The scent on this Hibernia is incredible,
Onwards & Upwards

3rd shave on this blade, and again it was a very close. It didn't feel quite so sharp against the grain today though.

The Krona is my concession to 'character.' I have better razors, but I am not looking for a mythical perfect shave. If I wanted the 'best' shave, I would just have one razor, one soap, and one aftershave. For me this morning shaving ritual is an exploration, in which the journey, the experience, is more important than the destination. If I had a garage full of cars, I would want one of them to be a '53 MG TD. It would not be the fastest of the cars, but it certainly would have as much character as any of the others.

My setup for the week and continuing on the Milky May ...

I've never used Haslinger before. Not ever. I really don't know why as it has popped onto my radar many, many times but not ever across my threshold. Well, Milky May spurned me on to make that a reality and tonight was the night. What a great soap! While I concede the Sheep Milk might give a different consistency to usual, it was heavily creamy in the lather and while cushion was perhaps a little lacking that did not bother me as the cartridge format was chosen for the shave. It put me a lot in mind of the good British hard soaps once lathered. I'm thinking T&H more recent formula. I'm certainly going to enjoy using it.
