The King is here!

My King Cobra arrived yesterday. As you can see from the photos, it's got a bit of a marmite feel. You'll either love it or think that it looks like a Parker on steroids. I happen to love it. My highlights:

1. The grip. I've never had such a slip-free grip. Unlike the original Classic, this thing feels like it can't slip.

2. The loading mechanism. My Feather Pro blades seen to enjoy more of a snug fit.

3. The heft. This thing is a beast. If no pressure was needed with the original Classic, then you need to tie helium balloons to this bad-ass. As you can see, it dwarfs my Sledgehammer slant (which I will be putting on the BST shortly).

The pics aren't amazing, but they give a good impression. Enjoy. [attachment=10890][attachment=10891][attachment=10892][attachment=10893][attachment=10894][attachment=10895]

So come on Johnnie - how does it shave? Does it beat the Cobra in every area?

I am so going to pull the trigger on the next batch of these -I love my Cobra to bits

Ratty

I got a great BBS shave in two passes with zero irritation. I could have shaved my neck all day ATG and it wouldn't have caused any. I don't notice a massive difference in quality of shave. The original Cobra shaves so well and any improvement will only be a tiny margin. Nevertheless, I do believe it gives a closer shave than the original.

Been reading about the Cobra forever. Been thinking about buying one forever.
But... I do have a Feather Straight....
My question always comes back to "is it the Blade Holder or the Blade that makes the Difference?"
Do you thing that the Cobra itself makes the difference??

I think the Cobra helps you get a better shave than the Feather because of the in-built protection against poor form. Slip up with the Feather and you lose layers of skin. The worst you'll get with the Cobra is a minor weeper and you'll always get a BBS, irritation-free shave. Having owned a couple of SS models I'd still recommend the Cobra.

I have a folding feather ACSS but my cobra is one of my favourite razors in my ever growing collection. It is certainly in my top 5, where the feather would go if the need to sell came.
Are you US based? If there is a way around probable customs charges for loans, then I am happy to loan you mine. PM me if interested.

Scott.

Over-sized and vastly overpriced, horrible looking thing. Like the real King Cobra, I'll stay well away from this!

P.S. your pics aren't bad at all - pretty good really.

I agree it's overpriced. It just shaves so well. Like I said, some people hate marmite! ;)

No, say what you mean Graeme! [emoji6]

Did anyone buy this one?

I'm beginning to like the look of the razor the more i see it, but the price is too much for me to justify, also i find it hard to shave with a handle longer then 80mm and the Cobra Classic is perfect for me.
i read that the shaving angle of the King is slightly different then the Classic, is that the reason for the longer handle and will the shave change if a shorter custom handle is attached.
