TOBS aftershave gels.

Hi.

Just a quick newbie question.
I just started using the TOBS after shave gel. When I put on the gel I'm finding that it's leaving a white powdery type residue behind. Am I doing something wrong or is it just not agreeable with my skin?

Sorry if this has been asked before.

I'm wondering if it's maybe the alum. I don't rinse after using it (I'm new remember) been reading that most folk who use the alum rinse off then apply their balms. Also think I need to work on my technique a bit. Stung like a bugger when I used my alum block.

Rinse off the alum, prior to applying the ASB. I only use alum as a last resort, it stings a bit !!!

Yeah you will find that, no matter how much I rinsed the alum off always the same result! Now I don't use it, made me more red when I used it tbh.

I found leaving Alum on my skin made my face really dry and tight, I found I had to rinse it off before applying anything else, even then it wasn't wonderful.

I don't use Alum anymore, it just dries out my face too much, I just shave, then rinse my face with cold water. I pat my face dry then once completely dry apply whatever After Shave I like. TOBS Jermyn Street is very nice, also Sunburyboy's Bay Rum is an excellent post shave treatment.
