Tube Keys

Does anyone use a tube key with tubes of shaving cream? Crabtree & Evelyn supply them for £2.00. But what I normally do when the tube is nearly empty is I cut it in half and scrape out the cream (or toothpaste etc) from the crimped end and put it into the capped end. I then cut a 'v' in the crimped end and place that over the capped end to keep it closed. Then I just scoop out from the capped end.

That seems to be a big pain in the whatsnames for a few pence worth of <insert product here>

Not really at all, because when I think a tube is nearly empty there's usually loads left in there. I've done this with some shaving balm, cut the tube in half etc, and there's enough for a few more weeks yet.

So, are you saying there's still loads left even when you've used a tube key?
