Thanks Johnny - I presu, med not as you were the person who mentioned Helen Shapiro in the first place, and I commented that my parents had mentioned her. Had I written-down my parent's ages, it would have been indiscreet, both towards you and them.Well, I wasn't bothered.

I'm afraid this week isn't to promising; we're in a longwave trough with areas of low pressure moving slowly across the country. Next week ought to be an improvement, though. Given the last few month's worth of rainfall, your area could quite reasonably have some drier weather. Down here, though, we need the rain. It hasn't been notably sunny or hot, really, just cloudy, cool and dry.Maybe worse for me than them Chris ... but all is forgiven if you just manage to figure out a dry ( if not warm ) forecast for your old m8 !

@chrisbell Looks like you might get your wish but watch out for the wind!
Met Office Weather Yellow Warning of Wind
I know, the wind has been very awkward here as well, Colum. We've had some damage to plants that were given to us a few weeks back.Absolutely howling at mine Monday and most of yesterday, no trees down but a flat garden in places. Glad it's looking (slightly) more reasonable for the weekend.
According to the forecaster on duty at lunchtime, today (June 13th) is the only date in meteorological summer that has never seen 30C anywhere in the UK.Whoopee!
