Tried these products thanks to a giveaway from The Daily Male.
I've been using the oil as an alternative to Clarins oil, and it's not bad. You don't need as much the 2ml suggested on the bottle (my Kosmo slipped out of my hand on Monday) and it's a little cruder than my the Clarins, both in terms of oiliness and a more 'in your face' volatiles but certainly improved the lubrication under a Molton Brown hard soap lather. Pleasingly, there was no interference with the lather unlike a KOS oil I used previously. Definitely improves comfort, especially on 3rd pass.
The Village Barber shaving balm is a little heavily patchouli scented for my liking, but the cream is effective and dissipates quickly. I'd be hard pushed to displace my favourite Cade post-shave treatment, especially after a really close shave. Like the Clarins, just feels a little less refined, but there is a price differential - it's not bad for the money.
I've warmed to both products during the course of the past few weeks and would recommend them.
