Hi,

I am running a Christmas draw at work and I am looking at buying a nice elegant dress watch as one of the larger prizes. I am looking for suggestions in the £150-300 region. I understand this is cheap for watches which is why u am wanting help.

Cheers

Smiths Everest Automatic http://www.timefactors.com/new.htm scroll to the bottom.

At 40mm it's the perfect watch size. It's a timeless, classic style similar to the Rolex Explorer.
It has a reliable, accurate automatic movement that is easy to service or replace.

It's a English company your buying from and Eddie Platts watches often become desirable ;)
2 year guarantee.

It's a no brainer :)

I have a few watches bought from Eddie, some of them quite rare.

I have this watch and agree totally that it is classic! Smooth and smart on the steel bracelet or slap it on a leather nato and it completely changes the look and feel of the watch.

If you wanted to go down the route of quartz, check out Christopher Ward dress watches.

I still think that if I was looking for a watch as a prize, I would be looking at a citizen eco drive, my own one is about 8 years old, and when not worn, sits on my bedroom window cill, plus there are plenty different models to choose from at a whole range of price points, a sort of cross between a quartz watch and a mechanical watch, as the battery never runs out, it's the sort of watch you would want to own, either as a watch enthusiast or not,
