Wooly pully/army jumper, yes or no?

I am on the verge to buy a wooly pully, the british army jumper, V-neck in black color and in wool (lots of acrylic versions on the internet). To me it is kind of stylish in a functional and practical way. It is so common here in England that I am afraid to look too much like the doorman or the security guy with that (I wear black clothes all the time).

Do some of you wear this kind of jumper, not professionally?

Ok... That's what I thought.

I'll buy one of these ugly christmas jumpers (a British tradition?), with Rudolph the reindeer on it, instead...

jumper in OP is fine but should be round not v neck.

Also, navy or green rather than black.

Source: been wearing jumpers all my life.

Never been a fan of army jumpers myself - owned one many years ago but it was never any good at keeping me warm. I prefer zip necks like this these days:
