I'm from and live in Yorkshire,it took me 21 years to go into the next county, a bloody strange and horrible place called Lancashire. They all talked weird!
I've never left Yorkshire again- this experience put me off:icon_wink:

Nowt wrong with Lancashire lad, get some Black pudding down your neck and you'll soon feel reet at 'ome.

Its when you have to venture south of Macclesfield you need to remember your phrase book and to have your shots.

:D:D
Gotta love the friendly rivalry.

To be fair I'd rather have a Lancastrian by my side than a Southerner!!!!*

(*said purely in jest with a good heart before all you Southerners start getting upset):icon_eek:

Father Ted,
Missed that You Tube link you posted-just seen it now very funny.
I don't know about north of Watford, anyone south of Sheffield is a southerner in this household :D

I enjoyed those a lot! I wish they'd repeat Hale and Pace. I remember a sketch with Quiff Richard singing about going to Kew Gardens in particular.

I did used to enjoy Hale and Pace. There seems to be a distinct lack of good comedy on TV these days. Actually there is a distinct look of good anything on TV these days, it all seems to be X Factor or Apprentice or I'm not a celebrity any more etc.. None of which I find worth watching.

I suppose good comedy is hard to do. I don't mean that in an elitist way. Hale and Pace was very broad, down to earth and relied on well done characters and charicatures. Some might say it was a bit purile but it is good to remove the pomposity and a lot of great comedy involves laughing at the pompous man with no self awareness.

Love that Yorkshire Airlines - I remember that screening.

They used to do a 'Tuesday' sketch which had me in stitches.
