Mail call the last 2 days.
My new Texas flag razor arrived,
A cracking selection of blades sent to me from our good pal @chard52142 I love the JAWS blades and have been after some for ages.
@pjgh and @NotTheStig have you tried any of those in the picture? I view you both as the forum Blade experts.
Lastly the Midnight soiree halloween 2024 with the Skull of my friend Stanford included.

Aside from the Supermax Blue Diamond I've not tried any of those blades before.

The Supermax BD is a very smooth and fairly sharp blade for me, not long lasting but a very decent everyday blade.

I've only seen one person use Jaws blades on this forum. Apparently they are quite hard to get hold of.

I've used Pearlmax before but not with the Astra copy design. It was a very poor blade, neither smooth nor sharp. Hope yours is a lot better.

Tonight I shaved with a brand called American Razor blade (actually made in India) but I'm not sure if it's the same as in that photo. They are very cheap half DE blades from amazon.

Let us know how you get on with them.

Its all subjective I guess. I like the 89 but find it hard to wear. It's an absolute classic and I wanted to like it more than I actually did, it is very nice but just not for me.
Might be worth getting a sample to try first, it's of its time.

A very honest appraisal, thanks. I’ll try and find a sample…

Muhle Medium Silvertip synthetic with faux ivory handle. The Silvertip fibre is perfect for me.

My favourite brush is my Muhle travel brush. This is the same knot with an everyday, home-y handle. The handle seems a very good fit for my arthriticky claws. This is the medium size (21 mm) but still seems small… I just love small brushes.

As a lot of you say about your acquisitions… it looks really classy in the flesh.

Will be trying it out as soon as I finish typing this…

Swish! I have this brush in the 23mm size and absolutely love it! Muhle Silvertip Fibre is not talked about much today, what with all manner of new fibres, but it was classy in its day and it's classy today. Likewise, the handle. Classy. You're right. Enjoy!

Managed to nab a Gillette 'new' long comb in pretty decent condition. Plating is in really good nick barr a few blemishes, and a very small crack on the handle.

Very nice indeed! As it happens, I've planned to shave with this model over the weekend - the slim bar in the baseplate, but I don't have the handle and so swapped onto a nice period bakelite handle.

Good catch mate!

If you swap handles make sure it will fit in the space provided, that particular baseplate requires a small diameter top part. Great shaver, congrats!

Also, that gap between the bar for the handle top on the long comb is smaller than on the short comb. That said, my short comb is American and my long comb (with the thin bar on the underside of the baseplate) is British ... @isaiah53's here is American.
