Hi all, started with one of my Dad's DEs about 1977, ran away to sea in 1979 and was given an electric razor as a leaving gift. Since then I've been in the electric, cartridge, beard merry go round.
With a bit more time on my hands 12 months ago latest beard went and decided to take up proper shaving as my new hobby.
Been experimenting with various tools of the trade ever since.
Current toolkit:-
Proraso green preshave
Kent menthol cream or Cremo cooling shave cream.
Ceramic or Stirling shaving bowl (I think the Stirling is the best for lathering)
Kent or Haryali badger brush - (no favourite as of yet)
Merkur 500C adjustable razor
Gentleman Jon alum
Post shave - haven't found a favourite yet so just working my way through balms and moisturisers lying around (mine and SWMBOs!!)

What's next? Rex Ambassador look good!!

Hello and welcome to TSR Ian, I hope you learn a few things here and most of all enjoy sharing as much as most of us do.
You don't have to spend a lot of money but it's it's not a rule, enjoy!

:)

Paul.

Welcome Ian. I myself am about a year into a similar journey, except for the running away to sea bit, as I ran away to the circus, no, sorry, to computers! With my new found expertise may I direct you to the BST section and of course the Shave Of The Day (or shaving porn as my SWMBO calls it) where you can drool, sorry again, look in awe at the stuff other people have - and start making lists!
