Some terrific vintage blades have arrived from the UK; a trade with a fellow Forum member and thoroughly decent chap!

A rush of blood to the head and I had to have a dibble in the Aladdin’s cave that is Connaught Shaving. I’ve re-connected with some fave blades from the past… unfortunately they were sold out of Perma-sharps. But, I did get some freebies. It’s a shame DFS didn’t chuck in a freebie when they delivered my new sofa.
Despite spending a lot of time in Spain, I’ve been unable to find LEA sticks… too busy eating, drinking and siesta-ing… so I got a couple. If they are Ok, I’ll use them for holidays and move my Arko sticks into mainstream shaving.

Hang on a minute… there’s an EJ89 3D Diamond there… I don’t remember ordering that… must have pressed the wrong button. Too late to send it back now, I suppose…

Amazing service from Connaught, by the way. The parcel arrived less than 24 hours from ordering it. Arrived Royal Mail 24.

IMG_4792.jpegIMG_4793.jpegThe extremely generous PIF from @Crossan arrived while I was away! I can’t wait to try the Fatboy out again now I’m a little bit more capable with my wet shaving than when I first got one! I love the Fine soap and balm scent and wanted a new boar brush for a while now! Add to that the Super Iridium blades and I think it’s fair to say I know what I’ll be using for tomorrow’s shave of the day!

Enjoy man!

... and a vintage Floris 89, which I believe is the post-tallow formulation placing it in the early 2000s or possibly 1990s (notice the Imperial and Metric measurements).

This one is what I refer to as the 'Legacy Stearate' formulation in my British Triple-Milled guide (see sig) and bears some similarity to Culmak of the 1980s who may well have been a recipient of soap from the same formulators.

Hi is this Boots stick any good found it unused at the bottom of a drawer.
It’s at least 11 years old I think.

I always find with stuff like that… perhaps if it’s gone past it usage as a shaving soap. It’s always good if you buy a second hand brush or if you’re wanting to clean a razor up. They always have their uses one way or another instead of binning it.

Whilst out and about today I stopped at a few antique shops.
Bought myself a blade storage tin.
Also
Found these 2 razors which I thought maybe any members who restore vintage razors might be interested in.
I'll be posting on sales page.
