Horse Hair

Just noticed when I ordered a Zenith boar bristle with olive wood handle from Your Shaving in Spain that they also have Zenith 50/50 horse hair. But they don't explain what 50/50 means and I haven't ever seen this explained by any retailer which stocks it. Perhaps nobody knows what it means. To me 50/50 is horse and badger.

It's very likely the ratio of mane and tail hair.
At least it used to be for brushes I've seen in the past.
 
For anyone interested in Vie Long Horse Hair I spotted a seller on ebay selling them - dana-trading based in Germany. For example a basic resin handle in various colours with 21mm knot in brown or black hair for £18-£19 GBP including VAT plus £6.05 GBP shipping. That's pretty cheap in these days of horse hair shaving brushes selling at a premium.
