I'm in my late 30s and I'm noticing that I come back from injuries with much more difficulty these days. I also seem more prone to injuries as well. The latest one is actually embarrassing. It's that embarrassing I'm going to share it on the Internet.
Bank Holiday Monday I picked up an insect bite near my ankle. It must have been either a horse fly or a spider. General itchiness but nothing of concern. 8 days later and the bite became swollen and the skin around it was infected. It kept getting bigger and I'm now on antibiotics. 2 days of treatment and my ankle is still massive and sore but it's no longer hot.
That's the type of shit you expect in a jungle - not Devon! Another sign of my ageing immune system?
I'm pleased to report that the Emporium remained operational despite this brush with death.
