Hiya,
Here's a 1959 Fatboy in good condition to be sent out on the house. This is a chance to see what's up with these things and get that Fatboy monkey off your back. Whoever I first send it to keeps it for a week or so, and then passes it along. I shaved with this particular razor and it performed quite well. Doors open and close smoothly and the adjuster works as it should.
One thing I'd ask would be for no one very new to DE shaving sign up right now. I say that because both good technique and experience using a variety of razors are needed to come to an accurate opinion about how the Fatboy performs. The idea of this Passalong is for comparing the fatboy to other razors tried. Hope that makes sense without hurting any feelings. As an update: I'd now be happy to open this up for any newer members as well.
You guys can figure out who wants to start things off. I'm thinking maybe keep it for a week or so and then set it free. Definitely try different blades and get a feel for the thing. For me personally, that razor is one of just a couple where the Feather blade matches up well. It's not gonna shave quite like a Slim or Super, or any other Gillette adjustable.
Feel free to talk amongst yourselves,
Martin
