Rate The Last Film You Watched

Last night I saw what I would say is my favorite movie of 2o15 - Quentin Tarantino's "The Hateful Eight"
It has a slow build but think that slow means uninteresting or uneventful - in this case it means entertaining and suspenseful.
A bit over 2.5 hours but I could have honestly watched another 2.5.

I would rate this a very solid 9.5/10 and my pick for best movie of the year.
Tarantino movies are very hit or miss for me so I was thrilled to see that this went way into the former of the two categories. Well, well done!

Ended up watching two westerns back-to-back (well different days);
- The Hateful Eight, and
- The Revenant.

Loved every minute of 'The Hateful Eight'.
The Revenant tonight....I was bored out of my skull 30 mins in.
Acting was spotty to say the least and the story was just not, to me, told in a very exciting/entertaining/captivating way.

The Hateful Eight was, to me, a solid 9.5/10
The Revenant...a 6/10

Streaming either legitimately or otherwise, not judging just saying.

There is also, not that I would condone such horrendous behavior, the ability to stream pretty much every TV show and movie ever made - in DVD quality - at www.primewire.ag
If you do, make sure to have your ad-blocker (ABP for instance) on as it does, I hear, generate a lot of pop-up ads otherwise.
As with pretty much all these sites they are also prone for any kind of malware so due caution is advised.
Having said that - if one, presumably, would take such precautions it's essentially a free Netflix with 100x the content

Again, I'm not condoning, advertising or suggesting anyone should use such a service but TorrentDay is excellent. Invite only but someone may have 2 invites going spare....

Queuing up Tarantino's new "The Hateful Eight" for tonight and we'll see...Tarantino's movie are very much a hit or miss for me.

For you Limeys and other Foreigners, this movie to be seen in the right manner needs a special projector set up that's not used very often....like maybe six times in the last 50 years. Called Ultra Panavision 70 and I believe is a crazy wide angle sorta thing. Plus the colors are supposed to be beautiful. Really interesting thing about the company that was created to find and salvage these old machines and put em back to work. They did just that. Very good story about the filming process too.

Also being shown on the Imax screen too in a few places if I remember right.

Well, I'm a whole hour and seven minutes into The Hateful Eight and apart from a bit comedy with the cabin's front door, thus far this film is, to quote Kurt Russell's character, "Horseshit!"

Tim Roth is annoying the hell out of me, as he always does; the Mexican fella is slightly comic; Samuel L ain't doing too badly; JJL looks god-awful made up like that and makes me shudder when I chance upon her god-forsaken countenance and the aforementioned Mr Russell is horseshit with whiskers. Bruce Dern is an old bigot in a chair and Walton Goggins isn't half as good as he was in Justified but still better than the rest. Oh and yon bloke from Free Willy (wasn't that a porno?) is as wooden as ever.

I sincerely hope there is a hell of a lot more to come but I am not sure if I'll survive that long. Up till now, Quentin Tarantino has done a grand job of crawling up his own arse and expecting the whole world to view it as a neat trick. Piss off, QT, I'm off to bed.....

Great example of "YMMV" - I enjoyed every single minute of it :)
(I did end feeling the same about the Revenant movie though and fast-forwarded through the last 30 mins just to get through it)
