MONDAY EVENING

Prep: Hot flannel
Razor: Mergress long handle
Blade: Feather (3)
Brush: Simpsons Emperor 2 Super
Soap: GFT Sandalwood cream - scuttle lathered
Post: Witch hazel and Wilkie balm

Nice smooth shave in the end, but I cocked up the lather at first meaning I had to put another dollop of cream in.

Then I started with the Mergress. Two superb WTG and ATG passes at 3, then I got a bit cocky and dialled it up to 4 for the final ATG pass (in an attempt for uber-BBS) and immediately nicked my neck which bled like a mofo!

Lesson learnt, stick to 3!

Fatboy Christening Day yay!

Prep: Hot flannel - pressed to face looking in mirror pondering life then AOS Unscented Oil
Razor: F4 Fatboy - Mint - Arrived today
Blade: Feather (1)
Brush: Frank Shaving - 28mm knot Silvertip
Bowl: Walnut bowl - 4.5" and a little tight for room with that brush
Cream: Proraso Green (old formula) with a couple of drops of Coral Skin Food
Audio: Pulp Fiction OST on v low so I can still hear the cracking of stubble - also kids were revising
Post: Zirh Sooth and a couple more drops of the Coral Skin Food

Cracking shave - can't believe the Fatboy seems so forgiving - WTG on 1; XTG on 1 then ATG on 3 (was being a bit ginger with it)

On another note, what is that Acua Di Parma stuff made of? Unicorn tears? Its more expensive than scorpion venom!

*Erasmic cream
*Isana boar brush
*Gillette Rocket Flare-tip

pre - nuage menthol shave oil
Gillette Thai Super Thin (1)
post - alum
- alcolado glacial/witch hazel mix
- Quicksilver A/S balm
- Quicksilver Edt

another new razor another chance to drop the Merkur 43C. Loved the weight and feel of the Rocket and it was an easy smooth shave. very difficult to get the wrong angle with the design of the Gillette heads. a couple of nicks - i was being a bit cavalier as i knew this to be a mildish razor - that'll learn me.

Tuesday xxi May, 2013

Razor: Merkur 46C travel
Blade: Gillette Sharp #1
Post: Sal Alum, Thayers Medicated WH, Zirh Post Shave Solution

Last Night/This Morning

Prep: Hot shower
Brush: New Forest 2041
Soap: Provence Santé Verlaine, suribachi lathered
Razor: EJ89 Barley
Blade: Rapira Swedish Supersteel #3- with single shim
Post: Cold splash, Witch Hazel, Barbershop Bay Rum

Very nice shave. I need to use this soap more often, it's wonderful on my skin, smells good and lathers really well too. Last use of this blade, probably has a few more shaves in it as my beard isn't of the large variety, but I've always done 3 and out. Next up is a super iridium that Cyril very kindly sent me to sample. Thanks Sir, I'm looking forward to it!

Going to try out my new acquisition of a £1.90 Boots DE Razor on my next shave, as I plan on taking it away with me and have yet to see if I like it yet.

Monday night

Razor : Feather Popular
Blade : Wilkinson Sword (german)
Soap : Wilkinson blue bowl
Brush : C&E super Badger
Splash : Proraso

Decent, no frills shave. I reckon I've got about 10 more shaves and I will have used a full Wilkinsons blue bowl soap, still not sure why it gets so slagged off tbh. OK it's not the best but I've used worse.
