S.O.T.D. Saturday 9th June to Friday 14th June 2013 ...

Prep: just a shower - have now finished the Castle Forbes pre-shave. Not really missing it, so won't bother buying again.
Brush: New Forest Tubby 1
Cream: Ingrams. Just finished it - it didn't take long as it was the runny version so I had to use loads. I do like the effect you get with a cold water rinse
Razor: iKon straight bar deluxe
Blade: Polsilver
Finish: DR Harris Pink Milk balm.
Repair: Proraso cut gel.

Very close but this razor and blade combo are a bit too much for me. And I dare not risk an ATG or any buffing. Close but not perfect

Prep: Village barber oil
Brush: NF Tubby 1
Razor: UFO U2/New long head.
Post: Village Barber mixed with 444

Wow but of a crap shave, I so want to love this razor head but its just to aggressive for me. Think I may put it on the BST.

TSR / Simpsons charity raffle brush 2/2
Ralph Lauren safari shaving soap
BRW Bull Mastiff with a NEW head and a Gillette superthin
Barbershop bay rum

This was the first use of the safari soap which was my Christmas secret Santa gift. What a fantastic soap. The smell takes me back to my first fragrances as a teenager, a bottle of safari and a bottle of polo sport bought from Kendals in Manchester. It also lathers like a beast, a light 15 second swirl in the mug then face lathered provided enough lather for three passes with enough left to lather the entire Swedish women's volleyball team.

Mmmm, volleyball.

Soap from Aleppo - Simpson Chubby 2 best badger - Gillette SS Red Tip - Iridium Super #2 - Pre JASÖN - Shaving soap Mitchell's Wool Fat - Alum block - Thayers Original Aloe Vera - ASB Sul Filo del Rasoio - ASL Musgo Real.

After the usual 1-2 minute hot towel prep:

vintage rebranded Simpsons best
'Webly'/Tungsten Personna 74 (NOS)
RL Safari SS
Neutrogena oil free moisture
RL 'Safari' EdT (old juice)

Man, I thought about switching from one of my two normal daily razors to one in the arsenal not getting wet. There is a bunch to choose from but in the end I decided once more on the perfect shave with this goofy frankenrazor. The soap is also pretty damn good. This old blade is still quite smooth and sharp after being used eleven times. This kinda shave is a tough groove to get out of.

BBS results,

Martin

Sunday

Prep: Hot shower
Razor: Weber head, JEC handle
Blade: Personna Med Prep (2)
Brush: Rudy Vey custom 2 Band
Soap: Speick Cream, face lathered
A/S: Superdrug Forrest Fresh
Cologne/Edt Eucris

After trying very very hard to use and like the iKon kindly loaned to me, I have finally given up and gone back to what I know best. Love the look, feel and build quality of the iKon. Really wanted to love it (and buy one) but it wan't to be. Kind of like bedding Angelina Jolie, and finding out she can't make Yorkshire puddings..... That bitter sweet (but ultimately easy) dilemma. So I will have to let Angelina go...... Sorry love

On the plus side, Speick is awesome, and the first time with the Forrest Fresh has left me glowing, after the initial sting. A nice, easy DFS.

Today's Shave

Feather artist club
Feather Super(ninja blade of death,3rd and last outing)
Kent BK8 Brush
Nanny's Nutmeg Spice
Old Spice Original After Shave Splash
Old Spice Original Cologne

Just about got a 3rd shave out of that blade it wants to bite, and for me that's telling me no more still not bad considering my beard likes to rip blades to death.

Warm shower
Proraso pre, green
New Forest Tubby 1, Cella
Gillette Slim (#6), Personna Red (2)
Cold splash, alum block
Clinique post-shave soother

Rather liking the Slim at the moment. Don't know when Speick starts its tenure as soap of the week... so I fancied me some Cella.
Very nice shave
