Greetings,
Maiden shave of the osp neroli soap & the ever-ready 1924 vitage razor..The verdict?..let me start with the soap, i recently was gifted a Ever-ready 1912 SE razor and some wonderful soap samples from @patw ,one of them was the OSP Fougere, which impressed me with it's performance & fragrance throughout the shave, adding to that i was instantly smitten by the ER 1912 vintage razor, i couldn't believe how comfortable this razor was, which i instantly bonded with..after that RAD set in big time, since then i've aquired another 3 Ever-ready vintage razors, the ER 1924 is the latest addition to my now growing vintage SE razor collection..anyway i also aquired a tub of OSP grapefruit & menthol cream, the OSP neroli soap i bought blind, going off the the cream's performance, i'm so glad i did because like the cream it provided me with a super protective lather throughout the shave, i added more water to provide a better slickness , leaving a excellent post shave feeling to my face...The fragrance i describe, to my nose..which isn't the best, for describing a scent, is tart/orange , fresh floral, citrus, ideal for all the seasons of the year, which i'll be using.. However IMHO with most shaving soaps once you've washed it from your face,i find most of the lingering fragrance has almost gone, however with the Neroli it still had a slight lingering presence..superb stuff.
The Ever-Ready 1924 after a 2 minute soak in boiling water to remove any nasties or imaginary beasties, dried down with a soft cloth then a few drops of Wahl clipper oil on the head hinge pins was incredible to shave with, It is however,i found it slightly more aggressive than it's siblings the 1912 & 1914,and concentration along with shave confidence is fully required at all times when shaving with one, if not it'll give you a nasty bite...What i love about these razors is the audio feed back you get from them, you know you've found your shaving angle when you hear the"Scrapping a knife over buttered toast sound"..A flawless maiden shave, from another superb addition to my now growing vintage SE razor collection.
A smooth efficient 3 pass BBS shave with no errors to report.
Finishing the shave off with a generous splash of Dana ~ English Leather A/S lotion.
My face is feeling smooth refreshed, & smelling devine.
Enjoy your day, ladies & gentlemen.
I shall bare that in mind..Cheers.Has to be a Streamline next
