I've tried a sample of that Ach Brito Musgo and could not detect anything unpleasant in the smell so I don't know what that would be.
I will try to dig the sample out and have a good huff. From memory it had a sweet cologne sort of smell, not like Derby, but it's probably 18 months since I last smelt it.Do you get Derby-like citrus?
It's also occurred to me that there's something I don't quite like about the LEA Classic bowl soap. Both the Ach Brito and the LEA state (oak)moss in the scent profile and wonder if it's that? Or the interplay with eucalyptus (Ach Brito) and menthol (LEA). I do like real oakmoss, but since it's practically outlawed in the EU and neither state it in the ingredients I'll guess they're not using real oakmoss and that part of the scent profile is synthetic.
I'm going to use it again tomorrow ... with Pitralon and hope my nose has got over it.
I like the soap for performance, but if the scent really is not for me then I can get that kind of lather from Muhle.

Ah yes, my mistake. It is Mogno that I have the sample of and am thinking about.Appreciated.
Note that this is Musgo (Moss) and not Mogno (Mahogany) ... which I know was VERY popular and raved about a couple of years back. Mogno was reported as having a complex, masculine cologne-like scent. Musgo is certainly mossy. Citrussy and mossy. I'm going on about this, coz I do really want to like it.
It is the shaving cream tube of Musgo that I have.Ah yes, my mistake. It is Mogno that I have the sample of and am thinking about.
But I know I also had Musgo as a hand soap and may have either a shaving cream or something else Musgo.
May take me longer to find it now but I will take a look tomorrow and let you know, if I haven't previously used it all up.
How did you get on with it? The new razor, that is.

Ach Brito Musgo (2024) Shaving Soap & Omega 10108 Hybrid Pure Bristle w/10049 Knot
Gillette 'New' Type Long Comb (GB) & Treet Classic (2)
Pitralon Classic Aftershave
Continuing open-comb October with a switch to this long comb version of the first iteration 'New' type. Made in England. On this side of the Atlantic, the 'New' type gained both a flat underside to the baseplate as well as a wide raised section which we call the flat-bottom and raised flat-bottom, respectively. Notice the slim raised slot on this baseplate.
I'll ping @MrK1 in at this point to write a few things about the Ach Brito soap since he did enquire when I posted it in the acquisitions thread. This is the latest formulation that reads very much akin to Muhle (and latest TOBS, for that matter) but has its own twist in the ingredients once it gets past the scent ... you know, all those unpronouncable chemical compositions.
Anyway, performance? Yeah, loaded up and lathered to be met with a stable, thick and cushioning lather. Granted, I've only used it the once but I don't expect to find performance up and down throughout the life of the puck ... that's based on what I know about this type of formulation. I'll know more for real after a few more shaves.
But, I do have to talk about the scent. Urgh! To my nose, it's Derby with a slight hint of ... er, sick? That's so perversely beguiling that I've been competlled to smell the soap a lot and now almost can't quite detect that initial abhorrance, but it fired straight back up when I splashed on the Pitralon! Gawd! I hope I've not ruined Pitralon now. I intend to use the same again tomorrow, so we'll see.
