At the moment I appear to be 24 hours behind with my SOTD and for this particular shave it was more SOYD. However (And not to be deterred with when this shave took place) the theme on this ocassion was 'Hybrid'

The main achievement for this shave was to improve on my straight technique and as suggested by
@Dansco concentrate just on my cheeks. However this would have left me with a bit of a dilemma in as much as 'what was I supposed to do with the remainer?'. Answer. Try a hybrid shave, cheeks with the straight and what was left with the trusty General.
Did it work? Too fucking right it did. I am actually going to list this shave in to the 'one of the finest' bracket.
In the main I managed to shave my cheek areas with the Dovo and remained having some cheek areas left. This was against my previous straight attempt in which I managed to nearly remove these fleshy areas once and for all. I am not going to say my technique has improved ten fold, because it hasn't, but with a bit more patience and discipline I actually managed what I would class as a rather perfect shave. What remained, and as I mentioned, completed using the General. After the straight I was amazed at how easy I could throw this razor about my face with equally as amazing results. A near perfect shave even if it did take time and a new level of patience.
Getting there is the best way I can describe it.
This was also a pretty well first time out with a shaving soap as against to my usual cream approach. After a number of years of being a stubborn old git I decided against my better self (and 'this is the way it should be' thinking) I actually went the way of a soap. Did I give in and fall foul of potential rabbit holes? To bloody right I did. I was flummoxed as to the lather one can create from a soap with such ease. This was one wonderful barrier to shave with and the lather as good as anything I have managed with my past obsession for the Creams Only Club. In fact for what a puck of Kent cost I am going to give it top marks in all areas. 'Loving it' as McDonalds would say. I wish I could truly say the same for their burgers. Next up is a puck of Mitchell's I have, but after reading there is not much between this and the Kent I do wonder if I have bought the same thing at two completely different prices. I shall find out for myself.
Whichever way it unfolds I am happy to stepped in to the world of soaps and yet more holes to fall in to. They are greedy little bastards these fluffy little bunnies.
To top off a fantastic shave what more could one want than Ermenegildo Zegna Acqua Di Bergamotto EDT. This was a Christmas present to myself and what a bloody wonderful scent. It may not be the world's strongest scent but the aroma is just simply divine. Fresh, charming and a fragrance which is so....me.
To the end product.
I am indeed going to give this wonderful shave top marks in all areas. Everything about it said 'quality'. It is one of those shaves which makes life feel great and where you really have to ask yourself 'does it get any better than this?'. If it does then I really do look forward to that day. A shave worthy of more than a simple BBS or a DFS, this is a FBS. I am sure you can work this one out for yourself as I have done enough bad language for this parfticular
SOTD.....SOYD
Until then I shall grin inwardly and enjoy
Happy whatever you chaps and if that includes a brilliant shave in to the equation, then I hope it is as good as this
