SOTD: Saturday 29 June - Friday 5 July 2024.

Ahem. A couple of shaves as time simply ran away with itself last night and 'couldn't be bothered' mode set in. Please do note my excuse does not contain the right ingredients to be considered a 'catch-up' so no insinuations please.

Being that today is the day we get to vote for who gets gets to lead the country I shall hereby theme this shave, 'polling'.

The day we have to climb a pole and decide which colour tie our leader will be wearing.

Anyone who wears this would get my cross in a box.

Two days worth of facial rubbish to remove, and two days of facial rubbish very efficiently removed. (y)

Thursday 4th July

Soap • Stirling Nag Champa
Brush • Yaqi Moka Express
Razor • Yaqi Romulus
Blade • Schick Proline (1)
Post • Pinaud Clubman Classic Vanilla A/S

My first use of the Yaqi Romulus (an 'Emporium purchase'l, and I was quite impressed.
Having previously used the Excalibur & Raster razors, which I found not to be comfortable/smooth, they seem to have nailed it with this one.
I dare say that it shaves better/smoother than a Vector too.

I find the OSP Neroli to be the most refined of the neroli scented soaps i have, not as harsh as some can be, James's original alcoholic splashes are simply brilliant and a perfect match to their soaps, much better than the newer non alcoholic.
The Dart did exactly what it does, demolishes stubble at a fantastic rate, but remember, be careful with it.
PS,
Another daft idea this week, coming soon to a SOTD next week,
The Blackrock "Er'lu"

Blade reveal and blade gap anyone !
Could be a "Clogpruf" DE razor or a tatty peeler, we will see.
Enjoy you day all.

5 July

Pannacrema Nuàvia Blu
Simpson Chubby 2
Edwin Jagger DE89
Feather Hi-Stainless
Men’s Grooming Vetiver and Sandalwood balm

6A057028-CAD5-4DB8-B977-9AEE3F322487.jpeg
The Pannacrema has the most beautiful scent, although, it is not quite a world class soap as it can be a little reluctant to lather for an Italian soap. Today, with the splendid Chubby was one of those days, too much water in the brush nearly ruined the lather. Nevertheless, two passes with the DE89 produced a very satisfactory result and a small blob of Men’s Grooming balm (with a menthol kick) started the day off well.
