The League 1 playoff final

I'm up at daft o'clock on a Saturday to make a 6 hour round trip to Wembley.

Anyone else from here going?

The stupid thing is I am exepecting a defeat due to the appalling record of my team (Sheffield United) freezing in big games. So far their recent record in 3 FA cup semi finals and three playoff finals is six defeats with one goal scored.

And I'm still going! That's the curse of being a fan unfortunately.

Now, which shirt do I pick?

Tall_Paul. I don't know what to say bonny lad. I have obviously seen the result. Just post when you feel it's ok to do so. Football fans are pretty strong characters. We take the knocks because 'next season' will be the best ever. I still hurt from Newcastles 3-0 FA Cup defeat by Liverpool in 1974. We were high on 'Supermac' from the semis...but were given a footballing lesson in the final.

Tall_Paul......are you stil alive? Your TSR chums are concerned that you might not be out there.

Sorry mate. Didn't check this thread after the catastrophic day out I had.

I didn't even see the match! Paid around £200 all in for a day where my brother turned up blind drunk and almost collapsed in front of Wembley (after he found he had lost his ticket) and I had to escort him back to Victoria otherwise he would have been arrested.

The only tiny crumb of comfort is I didn't watch the Blades lose again.

The real damned United! We must be one of the unluckiest teams there is.

Leicester Tigers - eight consecutive Premiership Finals - won three, lost five! This year, we were beaten by a team - Quins - we'd hammered a few weeks earlier.

I can trump that Carl. Since the early 90's we've had four play off finals, and several semi finals in the cups. We've lost every single one!

Phew.....I thought you might have done something silly/tragic bonny lad. Like I said in a prevous message next season will be the best ever in the psyche of all fans up and down the country. Look on the bright side...you could be a Rangers fan!

Or a Birmingham City supporter.
