Hello !

English is not my first language, so, I use a bulgarian Bible translation Veren, but also, I begin to read NKJV :) I have use YouVersion, Olivetree and Tecarta apps.

What is your favorite translation, and why?

King James for beauty, if it has excellent notation; otherwise the Oxford New Revised Standard Version (Anglicised Edition) with the Apocryhal / Deuterocanonical books, for ease of understanding and a straigt read, requiring minimum reference to explanatory texts.

I was given the NIV and it's really the only one I have read. Apart from the 'Biker's Bible' that the Christian motorcyclists give out at bike events. Don't laugh! Yes it's not for the highbrow linguist or scholar, but the testimonies of people whose lives went waaaay down the wrong path before turning round are the best bit. One of them was seconds away from a paid shooting of a rival drug dealer in front of his 2 pretty little daughters. That's words in action.

I just got gifted a new Bible yesterday which is the New King James Version (NKJV) for an early birthday present - NKJV gift and Award Bible, Thomas Nelson. I'm hoping for a "Revolting Christian" badge and a 2025 diary as sold by United Reformed Church (URC) and there's time yet lol. Otherwise I like the Good News Sunrise edition and New Century Version (NCV) The Everyday Bible.
