A little follow up on my accident...
I had a bump on the Thursday 25th Oct, my fault, low speed impact. The damage to my car (A4) was a scuffed bumper, no dents so you can imagine the speed I was going.
The point of impact (His car was a BMW 3 Series) was the corner of his rear door where it meets the rear wheel arch. The dent itself was smaller than a dinner plate. His front bumper was scuffed along the bottom where it went over a kerb.
As expected, he claimed for whiplash.
Tuesday 30th Oct, driving home, still in the A4, I was sitting in standstill traffic, when I got bumped from behind. It was only a little nudge, no damage. Swapped details with the other driver but didn't take it any further.
Thurs 1st Nov, got a Ford Fiesta courtesy car and they collected the A4 for repair. Got home to find a letter from the BMW drivers insurance company claiming his car was a write off. Apparently, the doors were mis aligned and not closing or locking, alloy wheel was damaged, rear bumper was damaged and mis aligned amongst other things. Fortunately I had pics of the actual damage which I sent to my insurance company.
Sat 3rd Nov, went shopping and sitting in a line of traffic waiting for the lights to change and got bashed from behind in the Fiesta by some dozy bint who was trying to program her sat AV while driving.
Mon 5th Nov, 9am, got a call from the bodyshop. I thought it was an update on my repair, but turns out there was a break in at the yard. They didn't take my car, but they nicked my car key.
17:00, car key found and they could continue with the repair.
It was an interesting few days...
