I had a Fantastic Shave Today with my Engels 6/8th Extra Hollow Ground Razor..I Don't Normally Do 3 Passes..A Super Close Dolphin Smooth BBS Result..I got a Sample of Stirling Non Scented Bees Wax Soap to Try from a USA Friend but after One Stroke with the Blade I Rinsed off & Re Lathered with My Valobra..I wasn't at all Impressed with the Stirling Soaps Protection + Cushion compared to Euro Tallow Soaps..Brilliant Shave..

My initial enthusiasm for this brush is starting to wane ... dealing with a horrid tangled mess after shaving is not the way I want to finish. Likewise, the scritch is just not right for me - it feels like a cheapo boar.

Re-knot coming up, no doubt ...

Spend the whole sunny afternoon in Frankurt/Main for some shopping (kids stuff, but also a Lotion Opaline AfterShave;-). Very slick people walking the streets there at lunch break, but where are all the funerals ???? (black suits seem to be the trend in banking) - sic!

Anyway - this morning I picked my Stirling Barbershop, the Stirling 24mm Plissy, my Töpferengel scuttle, and my Rotbart Mond Extra 15 with the Rotbart Extra Dünn (3) Blade.

Shave went ok, a bit tuggy again at the lower neck.

I noticed that somehow I never get a result from a soap (even a soft one) which is as good as that from a cream.
The soap seems to always dry the skin more than a cream, and also dry on the skin faster.

Cheers! Yeah, once the razor and brush were chosen, the soap was a no-brainer as I'm using it a lot at the moment - the rest was just a case of opening the Brian Fontana cabinet and picking out a white aftershave and EDT combo

Great shaver is the Darwin. I'm surprised this didn't put all the other razors out of business during its time. I wonder what caused its demise? Have to do a bit of googling on the history.
