General head arrived[emoji3]

Shaves well, still not impressed with Feather Pro blade (3rd Shave with this blade), scratchy!

It's a long while since I did a SOTD picture, but here's mine for today... for those who remember me I do still have my vintage Gillette collection as well.

Good to see you Brian

TR Cadman 6/8ths 'Bengall' full hollow
MLS 'Kraken'(Xmas [emoji320])
Cadman L7 black badger
Thayers witch hazel
Argan Oil

Just a great shave removing two days growth, the soap whipped up easily and has a aquatic scent to it. First pass I made the soap a little paste which started drying on my neck but quickly remedied with splash of water. Didn't really need a second pass but had masses of lather to use [emoji3]

Prep - Noxzema / Hot towel
Pre shave - Proraso
Razor – Weber ARC
Blade – Astra S/P
Brush - 'Papa Chub' (Chubby 3 Manchurian)
Soap – WSP Formula T - Tobacco
Post - Witch Hazel, Trevarno Revitalising Face Oil

The Formula T produced an impressive lather, but lacked a little in protection, leaving me with some minor irritation.... BBS, nonetheless....

Noxema Moisturizing preshave
Maggard Marble Synthetic brush
Through The Fire Ember soap (sample)
RazoRock Black Mamba razor
Rapira Super Stainless blade
Thayers Unscented witch hazel
Floid Vigoroso aftershave
Harry's balm

I now see why the Black Mamba is so sought after. It delivers a nice mild and smooth shave. I ordered the Oristo Sheen and if it shaves anything like the Mamba I'm going to be in love!

SOTD 27 Dec.JPG

Pre Shave: Hot Shower and Proraso Red
Razor: Razorock Hawk
Blade: Feather Pro Guard (#2)
Brush: Hans Baier Silvertip
Soap: P&B Baskerville
Post: Alum Block, Cold water and Thayers unscented
AS: Old Spice Original + Nivea Replenishing Balm

Second shave with the Razorock Hawk, the razor feels so light you barely know it is in your hand and it is very easy to navigate around the face. Shave today and yesterday were great.

Second shave with the P&B Baskerville soap, I swapped back to my Hans Baier brush today as I was a bit disappointed with the lather I got yesterday, but I do not think it was the Kent BLK4 more my technique. I normally palm or face lather but after taking a look as the video the P&B posted on creating a lather I decided to break out my lathering bowl and it was worth the effort.

The bowl is a bit oversized but it works well for me, it is a horn bowl I picked up on eBay for £4.95, I had seen some horn shaving bowls and I liked the idea but they were so much more expensive, then I spotted this one, no mention of shaving in the listing which is probably why it was cheaper;).

I'm convinced the GEM Blue Star gives one phenomenal shave. Evening and morning after check-ins with the GEM stainless did not live up to the standard set by the virgin Blue Star. So I went back to another Blue Star Damaskeene shave for the beard - - shimmed with two modern injector blades - - , the General with a Dorco blade for the head shave. In addition to confirming my love for a fresh Blue, it also confirmed my preference for standard size injector razors for the head shave. I never get weepers with the standard but managed one with the Dorco. I think I'll stick to touch ups with these skullwise.
