S.O.T.D. Saturday 10th June to Friday 16th June 2017

nanny's lime, contour, superdrug contour style blade *1, 404 bodger, bond a/s, aloe gel.

what a revelation this razor is! - the pivoting head is surprising after a few years of DE shaving and the blade was smooth and sharp. i got this handle from my dad a couple of months ago as i noticed he wasn't using it :) the contour was my 1st razor back in the late 80's and i stupidly threw my handle away when i upgraded to the sensor (!) will be using this until the blade stops being sharp, so am interested to see how long it will last.

That takes me back a bit !

I have not used Arko for a long time so I brought out the stick and rubbed it into my beard and beat up some great lather with the Vulfix 660 Super Badger. The Schick M2 Adjustable made short work of the stubble and I am clean and smooth with zero irritation. The Chick blade still working wonders on its 8th outing. Finished with Nivea, Clubman, and a splash of 4711 and I am ready for the day. Have a blessed day gentlemen.

Yesterday's shave posting late:

EVOO
Gem Damaskeene
Semogue OC Cherry Boar
Krampert's Frostbite
Thayers Superhazel

Shaved sat down as I've been having back trouble, took a little while to get used to. The Damaskeene is quite mild compared to the "standard" 30's ER 1912. Still a nice shave and a smooth result but ended up with a bit of irritation, I did have a bit of blade skip too, possibly operator error..

If you think I'm gonna say you're wrong
You're right I am
That's how uptight I am
Since you've been gone I got the blues
Don't know what else to do
But sing a song of losin' you
And maybe one of these days I'll find
The garbage can I'm lookin' for
And throw myself away

Throw myself away
Take me to the dump
Toss me on the heap
In a week I'll smell so bad
Anyone comin' to see me
Will have to hold their nose
But you'll come out like you always do
Smellin' like a rose

The components for my slow shave on a lazy hungover Sunday were

Pre Shave - RSC Facial Scrub
Soap - Wickham's Classic 24
Brush - Omega 80265
Razor - Yingjili Tech
Blade - Gillette 7 O'Clock Permasharp Stainless
Post Shave - Witch Hazel
After Shave - RSC Aftershave Balm

First time using Wickham's Classic 24, the smell & lather was superb. DFS in the end, an enjoyable part of a hungover Sunday afternoon!

First shave with a loan razor some of you may recognise, one of @Blackmass razors.

This was my 17th straight shave. I'll be keeping this brief as I ended up needing to hurry the shave which was a shame. I did one, quite successful pass, other than a small nick on my chin.

I had a second pass with the Brass General fitted with a Proline on its 5th? use. That passed without issue and I was done and dusted in about 10 max 15mins which is super quick for me. Pretty much smooth as I wanted it to be.

The Shavemac is a stunning brush, the 1912 club cola is cracking.

Actually a very good shave considering. I'll have to send the Brass General on at some point next week, I'll message the next in line!

Evening gents,
Sunday evening shave, got a good bit done here today, we had four forty foot poplars blown down in the high winds, logged them with the chainsaw, cleared up all the brash and still managed to mow the big orchard "about one and a half acres).
So keen to have a nice shave to finish on a high.
As always the wickhams soap was top notch, the razor given to me by my friend was a pleasure to use, not totally sure on my blade of choice though. Tried a Gillette seven o clock sp for the first time, seemed really smooth, but then noticed little blood spots appearing through the second lot of lather. Can only assume the blade had some tiny burrs?
Anyway they soon dried up and the shave was enjoyable.
Gillette razor
Gillette 7 o clock sp #1
Wickhams Irish fern soap
Omega boar brush
Superdrug as moisturiser
Tabac underarm
Tabac lotion.
