DORCO :: RAZOROCK :: MONDIAL :: GENTLEMENS REFINERY

In Oaxaca, Mexico for another week. The Dorco is an amazing shaver, and today was the best lather I've gotten from the Mondial. Lots of water and a frothy lather performed beautifully. Have a great week everyone.

That's a fantastic set of pictures - cheers - I.

Razor: Rockwell 6C (6)
Razor blade: Polsilver
Brush: shavemac unique
Cream: Trufitt & Hill Grafton
Post: Thayers witch hazel and Fine American Blend

Second outing of the 6C and you'll all be surprised to hear there were no issues....really. OK I'm still not a fan of the over hang of the blade and the head is a tad too bulky.

I changed the blade from the Gillette 7 o'clock yellow. Changed to the Polsilver as recommend by a couple members, thank you. What a difference a blade makes.
I also moved up to plate 6 and found this combination a lot move comfortable and efficient.

A quick mention on the T&H cream. I really love the stuff. When I'm not sure what to go for I usually pick it up. Great performance and great scent.

There you go, short and sweet, just like me.;)

Very cool!.....we have a rock star in our community.....who knew?! :)

Pre-shave: Wright's Cold Tar Soap (face wash after sauna)
Razor: Hone 15a
Blade: Gillette 7 o'clock Yellow (Day 4)
Brush: Omega synthetic Barbour pole
Soap: OSP Lemon
Post shave: Myrsol Lemon.

Getting better shaves by shaving every second day and after a stint I. The sauna and steam room. Also decided to stick with the Hone 15a, having also packed the ikon 101.

Still convinced that the hard water is making shaving more difficult than normal. Still getting the odd shaving rash, albeit less so.

Have been looking for a Myrsol (on Ibiza) not seen any yet! Quite surprised.

All the best,

Chris

@Ferry-shave - for some reason Myrsol is hard to track down in Spain. In my experience. Even in Barcelona where it's made. I stock up in Madrid. Have a good time - cheers - I.

Pre Shave: Hot Shower, L'Oreal Pure Power Face Wash and Proraso White
Razor: OneBlade Core
Blade: Feather FHS-10 (#3)
Brush: Maseto Fan Shape 2 band finest 30mm
Soap: Cella
Post: Alum Block, Cold water and Thayers Lemon Witch Hazel
AS: Nivea soothing balm

Third shave with the OneBlade Core, the shaves are not getting better if anything it is a bit worse. It is very mild and easy to use, but I can get closer shaves with other razors and just as smoothly. I will try a new blade for the next shave to see if this improves the shave as I did feel some mild irritation today, but I also tried to apply a bit of pressure to see if it shaved closer, but it did not appear to help. I am not sure if this razor is a keeper or not.

Evening Shave.

Baxters of California Face Wash.
MWF.
Vulfix 404.
Merkur Progress (3).
Gillette Nacet (1).
Thayers Witch Hazel (cucumber).
Alcolado Glacial splash.

I bowl lathered the MWF today, and although the result was decent, I much preferred the face lather I achieved yesterday. First use of a Gillette Nacet (courtesy of the very generous @patw) and I was very impressed. Very smooth with absolutely zero irritation, and a lovely close shave. 3 passes with minimal pick ups. Very muggy in London this evening so a splash of the Alcolado Glacial to finish off.

"Meh" Monday

IMG_4769.jpg

I'm following the few who stick to a soap for a little while, as I am thoroughly enjoying the scent of this soap. I lathered it up with my newly-acquired Rod Neep silvertip. It is a shedder but only rid itself of the one hair today. A good lather was to be had initially. First pass was grand with the Thomas Clipper DE, loaded with a fresh-from-the-pack Feather Hi-Stainless. I had to abandon the shave after the first pass for about 10 minutes. I decided, somewhat foolishly, to continue with the shave thereafter. I revived a decent lather and continued for another two passes, reminding myself of the great shave I had with the RR Hawk the other day in 3 passes. I finished up, washed my face and thought 'oh shame there's a couple of weepers'. I chucked on some witch hazel and the tingling began... and the weepers somehow reared their ugly heads. I ended up having circa 7 very slight weepers, 5 on one side, 2 on the other. I smarted up with a bit of alum and rinsed it off shortly after but I am still tingling and I am a little red in places. I'm feeling tight as well which is far from ideal.

I am smooth, but I'm a tad uncomfy. Hopefully it doesn't take too long to settle down. I think a couple days off will do some good. Not been feeling myself today and that was definitely reflected in this shave. Not had one this bad for a long while...

Onto the next one, chaps.
