Good morning Dick, it's great to see you getting so much use from that blade, it just goes to show with a little looking after between shaves these fantastic blades knock the new ones into a cocked hat :) Paul.

...Almost sold the ruddy Tech so jolly glad didn't! Seem to remember @Count of Undolpho posting a while back regarding the use of a Tech head with a longer heavier handle and his positive findings so I'm very pleased to echo these...
...Just feels so natural in the hand with the angle being perfectly easy to find every time. I'm sure the picture above is by a member here but cannot, for the life of me, remember who. Age.....sheesh.

I can't remember calling out the Tech in particular but I've tried Tech, New LC and Old style heads on longer heavier handles and all of them benefited from it. As you say it just seems to let you find the angle and the right pressure straight away. Fasan slant next though the head is so light I'm really not sure how it'll respond.

Yaqi model R1605-S.
Fitjar "Fjellheim".
Vintage 7 O'Clock razor.
Dorco Titan Stainless (6).
Arko Men Cool after shave cream.

Pre - RSC Facial Scrub
Brush - Yaqi 24mm
Soap - Palmolive
Razor - Gillette Tech
Blade - Perma Sharp
Post - Witch Hazel/RSC ASB

I had a bit of razor burn from yesterday's shave, possibly down to making a few mistakes with my first OC shave so went for factors that were the easiest on my face. The Tech combined with a Permasharp really works well, maybe not the most aggressive shave but very smooth nonetheless and the Palmolive soap is always great.

Straight Shave No: 100!!!!

It took 8 months to achieve my target, 100 SR shaves to learn straight razor shaving :)

I don't think 100 shaves has made me an expert but I'm able to shave safely and enjoy it which is what I set out to do in the first place.

The technique now is solid enough to get a BBS in all directions and obtain even closer shaves than I get with the Muhle R41, something that only a few months ago I thought wasn't possible for me :)

Also..... zero irritation every time.
