L'Oreal Men Expert Hydra Sensitive Face Wash
JR 168 Tuxedo Synthetic
Catie's Bubbles Conneticut Shade
Gillette Slim Adjustable
Gillette Wilkinson sword blade
A little alum, and
Nivea Sensitive Post Shave Balm

Ive never used one of these blades before. I liked it a lot. How can it be Gillette and Wilkinson Sword at the same time??
Anyone used them before? I think they're really smooth.

Enjoy your evening all :D

T-t-t-Tuesday

P&B Denali (sample)
RazoRock Disrupter 22mm
Face lather
Gillette Old
Schick Krona Stainless NOS
Thayer's Rose Petal and Aloe Vera
Proraso Mental and Eucalyptus

Okay, I've thawed out now. Now, many of you may think (with possible good reason) that, with yellow warnings of snow up here, using a menthol, camphor, eucalyptus and possible liquid nitrogen based soap was not entirely rational.

And you'd be right. So, anyway...

First off, a huge thank you to the erudite Iain @Digimonkey for the kindness in sending me the Denali sample. You're a star!

The soap is incredibly soft; even by P&B standards. The sample has the consistency of thick cream (see below).
But...having placed it into a small Omega shaving bowl, the damp brush was introduced. 30-40 swirls and then face application (having been prepped with cold water, naturally).

So, it exploded. Literally. Within 30 seconds or so, I had an amazing amount of lather on my coupon. Then the temperature began to fall. Seriously, this stuff is cold. Kerry must have had rubber gloves, goggles and all manner of PPE at his disposal in his laboratory. Each subsequent rinse with cold water between passes was interesting!!

I opted for the Gillette Old, paired with a NOS Schick Krona Stainless that I found lurking at the back of the blade collection.

I had the shave of my life. Honestly. 3 passes and no buffing. At all. I don't know if it was because of the sum of all its parts, or any one element, but everything came together. Shaving planet alignment.

My face shineth merrily, with that post-tallow feel; and smoothness I'm at a loss to describe.

Sorry for the hype; but it had to be done.

Yours in bliss.

Blade: Gem SS #1
Razor: Gem Clog Pruf
Brush: Black Anvil 26 mm Custom
Soap: L&L Harmony
Post: BBA PSB
EDT: Aqui Di Parma Colognia

The brush has bloomed beautifully and although this is only my second use of it I am thoroughly impressed.
L&L has a stunning scent and is a top performer as is the Clog Pruf.

A thoroughly enjoyable two pass DFS shave.

Enjoy Yours! :)

There's nothing quite like two passes to eradicate a week's growth. This blade is lovely and smooth on its third outing and I'll see how it fares next time, too. Lovely scent from the soap so it makes sense to marry it up with its inspirer and opt for a squirt of Acqua di Parma Colonia to finish off. Lovely.

Greetings All,

Wednesday shave

One day's growth and warm shave

Preparation – Showered then face washed with Clique Liquid facial soap (mild)
Soap: P&B Citra Royale
Razor: Rockwell 6C (4P)
Blade: Dorco Stainless (New Platinum) (3rd)
Brush: RazoRock 400 (face lather)

Post Shave: Hot then cold water rinse, Alum, Nivea Sensitive ASB followed by Michael Kors EDT.

Dorco Stainless (New Platinum) Test
Day 3

My thought that yesterday's ‘so so' shave was due to ‘2nd shave' syndrome proved false. Today, my shave was close enough and acceptable, but it came at a price. Several weepers as the blade did not seem to cut my whiskers with any consistency. At one point, I thought the blade was not straight in the razor, but it was. The Alum burn today resembled molten lava being applied to my skin - ouchy.

This razor is slowly dropping down my rankings.

Cheers,

Brian
