For a very long time I have tried a number of soaps with my straight but there was never sufficient glide. And then I checked what Fergiebilly is using :) and got myself a Valobra stick :D. Since then my shave and post shave feeling have improved dramatically.

When I was a kid my dad would pour clear alcohol like votka in the shoe and let it soak right before you would use it. The alcohol evaporates quickly but the shoe would take the shape of your foot. It works every time though the shoe has to be 100% leather.
