Birth Year Razors - sought & available

Thanks Pedro083
I recall my father's WS razor had a white faux ivory (plastic maybe bakelite) handle.
I'm sure it cost quite a lot more than my 3 piece Gillette which may explain their high price now.

I have just taken delivery of a beautiful Y2 Superspeed (now you all know how old I am) from French Blade which came with a matching box and a very generous selection of goodies.

Needless to say I am delighted and very grateful to Max for being so helpful and friendly.
I am looking forward to using it, but as it is a birthday present from Mrs H, she has taken it away and hidden it. Still not too long to wait.

I know this thread is a little old, but if anyone can help with my request I'd be utterly chuffed.

I'm after a razor made in C2 of 1982. I was thinking perhaps a Gillette super adjustable. If anyone can point me in the right direction that would be marvelous.

Anyone with anything August '63 vintage please?

I-3, I've had quite a few of them over the past, so should be easy to source (or you can wait until I find one) L, I & J are common years in Slim Adjustables.
I have I-1, and a very nice I2.. I you prefer superspeed, I'll have to have a look, but don't think I have anything in that year.

Max

Now awaiting delivery of a birth year (and correct quarter) Gillette of some kind from the bay, can someone give me any tips on what to use to clean it up using materials available in the UK?

Cheers,

Ainslie

What a cracking idea this is: Would love to acquire a Feb 1965 razor, anything considered, please feel free to PM or post on here for me. Many thanks in advance!

That would be K1, got K3 in Slims, but no K1 at the moment.
Will have to look through the rest.

Max

OK my next request

I have converted back my old man to proper shaving.

He would like a May 1954 razor, preferably a TTO. Can anyone suggest what I need to look for/have something to sell, its his birthday at the end of the month so would be a nice prezzie

Cheers

You would be looking for a Late model "40's Superspeed" as they were prodused up until the end of 1954, or a standard "Flair Tip Superspeed", i have a couple of 40's and a few Flair Tips, will check dates when back home tomorrow, also Max (Frenchblade) may have what you need, and possibly Erwin (Mertwje)
