I couldn't wait and after an extended soaking yesterday I used mine this morning and was most impressed, great backbone and a great handle to boot! P....the 'Stubby Beast' has landed and is now soaking. Handle feels and looks good...
What is the knot size and loft?View attachment 32277
Anyone tested the Omega 10104?
Also, though the handle really is on the cheap side (even by Omega standards), the 10104 is nonetheless an outstanding brush. 27mm knot/55mm loft, it's basically the popular 10049 knot in a lower loft.]
It could have been a very nice brush if it wasn't for the crappy handle, a shame!Do I spot a thin red plastic container for knot?
The Zenith has arrived. I went for the Euro/X - unbleached. Cheap as chips from TVB Shaving. Not at all funky, smell-wise. Quite a big brush for a 24mm knot. I'm suitably impressedI must have shaved with boar brushes for more than 30 years - principally Culmak, when a new brush meant a trip to your local (independent) chemist. The result of a (relatively) brief sidestep into badgers has still left me favouring the lower end of those, especially finest - scritchy with backbone.
I've some vintage boars, and mixed, but have added a Zenith today.
The Thater is lovely - principally for the handle. I wonder where the knot is from?
