I tried this and absolutely ruined a omega 48 lol could have cut myself with the bristles after I finished with it.
I think you are right.
This looks a killer for soap sticks and face lathering. Love to hear how long it takes to split/break in. Please let us know?

If you can wait to use it: Soak in water overnight, towel dry & leave to dry during the day. If using/lathering let it dry fully before soaking overnight. I did this for 3-4 days before the first use. The soaking & drying helps shorten the break in.

I received my Omega Stubby Beast from Connaught Shaving today, wow that was quick! The soaking has begun I will use tomorrow morning dry and re soak tomorrow night, it should be just right in a weeks time. .

Now, Paul, I'm a sucker for a turned handle and I like boar brushes, but the Yorkshire bit of me has some questions:New Omega breaking in nicely. After 3 shaves & 5 nights of soaking:
20102 type natural bristles, 27 mm knot, 52 mm loft, turned Faux Jade, solid resin handle.
There are a few dark hairs in the knot that provide a little more scrub.

When you say the brush has 20102 'type' bristles what differentiates the knot from an ordinary 20102?
If I look at the 20102 on your website, the loft is cited as 55mm - this might be a mistake, as I've seen other websites cite a loft of anything from 55mm to 62mm - but comparing the loft to the new brush, 3-10mm difference doesn't amount to a whole hill of beans.
I guess what I'm saying is, why shouldn't I just get a 20102 - I could even cannibalise it and set it (lower
) in a new handle.

Yes there are probably better but for £20 it's super soft right out of the box.
I've tried many but omega boar brushes just seem softer than others. In my line up the acrylic black and clear one is a lovely brush.
