Hi , thanks , thats a great idea , but for now i think, i just need to get a sample pack with a couple blades from 5 or 6 different makes :) mind you thats proving hard to find a pack with at least 2 blades i want to try !
 
I think this is a better sample pack, it's got a fair amount of blades that are considered to be good enough and good value for money in it, plus feathers which some people find are necessary to get a close shave.
 
I'm not sure that all newcomers are up to the pleasures of the Derby Challenge. As with Horses for Courses, you can't expect everyone to be able to go 2 miles 4 on their 1st try!
He may have to 'cork' them 1st!
 
Like stated already I would suggest Astra SP, Sharpedge, Super Stainless Greens as well as Personna Reds. Some will work better than others but the early stages is about getting memory muscle formed as well as prep/lather and pressure correct.
