Hi chaps,

After a recommendation for a cologne, currently big into lavender, using le pere lucien soap and a/s. Looking for a cologne to compliment.

No old lady scents please!

Caron pour homme is worth a try, consists of Lavender and vanilla, usually available on All beauty (Cheapsmells) for reasonable money . . . .

Modern (authorised) remake of Yardley Black Label? Lavender's the middle note but there's some other nice stuff in there - patchouli and oak moss. I've just done a BIN. It could be 5h!te - at £7.90 I'll use it as glass cleaner:

PS EDT not cologne.

Vanilla is not too sweet, the Caron smells initially like play -Doh !

I'd give the nod to Czech & Speake Oxford and Cambridge (mentioned already by Vinny) - smashing stuff and worth getting hold of a sample.

On a related note, has anyone tried Atkinson's Lavender Aftershave, sold by Connaught?

Always wondered whether it's a good one or not.

+1 on Czech & Speake Oxford and Cambridge. Quality, classy scent and very long lasting.
