Bowl fans: What do you lather up in?

Care to share what your lathering recepticle of choice is? I bet there's some odd and wonderful stuff out there.

I'm on my third now in a short DE shaving career, I think I might have settled. For now.

1) I started with a white thick porcelain pie dish because it was what was kicking around in the kitchen cupboards, quite narrow and tall with a very thick glaze... not great results, not enough room to swing the brush around really, but did the job just about.
2) I then bought a frankly ridiculously priced shaving bowl from Edwin Jagger... lovely thing to look at, and not bad lather, but maybe still on the small side. The lather spills over the edge as you work it. Worse still, I've knocked it against the tap a few times and It's made me kack myself. The porcelain is very fine and I don't fancy picking up 100 shards of anything as part of my morning routine any time soon.
3) Another member here mentioned Tapas dishes.. so I played around with an old Tapas dish at the weekend, those terracotta ones you get chorizo or meatballs in down the food halls. Wide compared to the previous two, some porosity or roughness to the inside and the lather comes thick and fast, I think I'm getting enough lather for 4 passes, though I don't need that amount. I like it a lot... and if I break it, I just buy some more meatballs and I get another free shaving dish.

So what have you had, what do you stick with and why? Post a photo too if you like, with or without lather... I'll be adding some later.

I use a white china cup I bought from Paul@Connaught Shaving for 6 quid. I have never used anything else, apart from the few occasions where I use a soap stick and face lather.

I find that cup adequate for the purpose, and haven't really considered changing that setup.

I'm currently using a terracotta dish that originally came with pate in from tesco. Its a good size for getting 3 passes worth but because its fully glazed it takes a fair bit of effort to get the lather up.

Got a bid on the bay though as i type this so hopefully in two days i'll be able to update

At the moment I am using a deep cereal bowl that I bought from Wilkinson for a quid, it works quite well for me.
I have though sent my wifes friend who is a car boot addict on a mission to get me a scuttle.

A wooden bowl not unlike this one:

Keeps my razor & stuff in too. Came from HMP Lancaster Castle.
Of course most days I just lather up on my face with the brush.

I have been using various bowls, I decided to order a scuttle and I though while still spending those big bucks on a scuttle I could as well order a shaving bowl so i did, probably quite expensive compared to other bowls but it's hand made and fit very well in the palm. No regrets from my side, works rely well and is beautiful to look at.

Snap. Does the job although I do find the brush handle clanking against the edge sometimes.
