Just heard something on the radio about decimalisation ('71 d-day). It appeared to confuse the hell out of everybody. Seems bizarre now but I suppose everyone's brains were wired in to the old coinage system.

D-day (15.02.71) was my 4th birthday. My parents thoughtfully bought me a kids book (from Woolies in Accrington) on decimalisation as a birthday present - oh the fun I had :|
