DIY - Im need of a new drill

If you take the drill code and do a general search you should be able to get it for less say....

Tbh I like my Bosch SDS, I've used new Makita SDS and I actually found the hammer too aggresive as is my Hitachi.

Even though it seems good value it's probable that those bits bundled with the drill are made of Chinese cheese so buy decent ones separately unless you know otherwise. I'd wait too if you can, there are bound to be DIY Daddy deals nearer Xmas or soon after.

Many thanks guys for all the advice and tips. I'll be waiting till after xmas for any possible sales and deals.

If you any of you sees a good deal please send me a link... it can be any brand that you think is a good quality on.

Many thanks

I might agree with antdad there.
I couldn't promise as to the exact model of Makita sds I have used.
It is good, as in it whacks through stuff.....
but can blow a brick. (I agree with the starting with the drill action first. Take your time.)
Good quality bits are as important as a good quality blade.
Make all the difference.

Hilti do a drill bit with a quad point on them which are very good for old brickwork. Not cheap, but vastly superior to many other drill bits I've used! As for the actual drill, well there are dozens out there up to the job. What I will say is if you get one with the stationary chiselling mode, don't go cheap, as they tend to blow the seals, and the grease is really messy;)

Thanks guys for your suggestions... I will have a good look after xmas and assess what brand to go with.

What ive learnt is that buy quality drill bits and dont go for a combi deal.
